Shailene Woodley is an American activist and actress. Shailene Woodley gained fame due to her performance as Alexandra King (a drug-addicted teenager) as part of The Descendants. In the wake of her performance, which was awe-inspiring of The Descendants she went on to perform several other characters that showcased her talents. Shailene was able to secure a prominent role very early in her career in film. This is in itself amazing feat. She began her career in television and commercials, then moved on to Hollywood films. She has won numerous prizes for her outstanding acting abilities, among them the MTV Movie Awards. Some other prestigious awards like those of the BAFTA Awards and Golden Globe Awards are also awarded to her. Shailene was an actor for several years, however she is also a strong environmentalist. She co-founded All it Takes, a non-profit organization in 2010 along with her mother. She was awarded the Entertainment Industry Environmental Leadership Award in 2016 at the 20th Anniversary Global Green Environmental Awards.
